How we try to quantify our lives

There are 8760 hours in a normal year.

(2026 is not a leap year, so no bonus existential hour package.)

Your working hours: 1992

Percentage of the year spent working: 1992/8760 = 0.2274 x 100 = 22.7%

📊 So you spend about 22.7% of the entire year working.

Which sounds almost reasonable until you remember that sleep takes about another 33%, and suddenly humanity’s grand experiment starts looking like a very elaborate scheduling problem with snacks.
