Yup, some of us here at D-E-P-O-T R-D felt the tremors.
Apparently, our local tremors were caused by a 7.8 (according to USGS as of 8:47am) / 7.9 (according to NEA.gov.sg as of 8:47am) earthquake that happened at 7:49:01am local time in SOUTHERN SUMATERA, approximately 550km SW of Singapore and 90km SW of Sungai Penuh, Sumatra, Indonesia.
The 883Jia DJs felt it while they were still on-air and announced it as it happened. Quite drama yah?
Anyway, I didn't really feel anything much but it could be because of my rather central (in the building) location. They were closer to the edges of the building so they might have felt it more.
Oh well...
If you want more updates, check out NEA's Earthquake Monitoring webpage
or
the USGS Worldwide Earthquake info centre
Maybe they should stop doing the "jogek" for a while there...
Okay okay...not nice to make fun of disaster but have to make light of it lor...otherwise everyone so sad. :P
